UV Lamp Options

Ultraviolet Lamp Monitoring

The Watch Dog Monitoring System can be included for continuous metering of ultraviolet lamps.

The enclosure is generally mounted directly onto the sterile conditioner or can be remotely located. In some cases, the Sterile Conditioner is mounted on the top of the tank. This requires climbing to get a lamp reading. Mounting the Watch Dog Monitoring System closer to the floor allows ease of observation on a daily basis.

This system contains a meter, which reads ultraviolet intensity, not visible light. When the meter reads 60% or less, the lamp(s) must be changed out.

This system also contains an "operational LED" (Safe) and "lamp change out LED" (Service).

The Watchdog Monitoring System can be included as part of the initial fabrication of a Sterile Conditioner or it can be retrofitted in the field to an installed and operating system.

Amperage Indication System-

Provides visual indication that power to the lamp is on. Can be easily installed onto existing equipment. Mounts on the lamp housing. 120v. standard, 220 V. available.

Hour Meter-

The Elapsed Hour Meter provides the user with the number of hours the equipment has operated. Generally the amount of hours for continuous use on an ultraviolet lamp is 9,000 hours.

Teflon Sleeves-

"Shielding of light bulbs helps prevent breakage. Light bulbs that are shielded, coated, or otherwise shatter resistant are necessary to protect exposed food, clean equipment, utensils and linens, and unwrapped single- service and single use articles from glass fragments should the bulb break."

FDA Food Code, Chapter 6, Section 202.11

Ultraviolet lamps must be fabricated from specilized quartz rather than from ordinary glass. This is because ultraviolet energy at 253.7 nanometers (2537 angstroms) will not pass through most substances. Among the few that can be penetrated are the quartz, from which all UV lamps are composed, and certain plastics in general, Teflon in particular.

 Such a sleeve will:

  • Allow 90-95% of the UVC germicidal energy to go through

  • Contain the pieces in the event of lamp breakage.

  • Be resistant to lamp operating temperatures

  • Remain flexible and easy to clean

Solarbrite-

A highly reflective composition that enables increased UV output intensity and evenly distributes UV rays. Solarbrite is easily shaped to meet the exacting demands of the area to be treated. Samples are available upon request.

Air Quality Options

HEPA Filters-

HEPA filters remove 99.97% of all airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor filters are used in areas where incoming air needs additional filtration. These filters are positioned between the pre- filter and blower. Various sizes are available.

Outdoor Service Options-

Rain Hood-

For outdoor installations, a specially constructed rain hood is recommended for all Fuller sterile conditioners and air exhaust vents.  The rain hood is designed to protect the filter inlet from inclement weather.

Heaters and Thermostats-

Many liquid storage applications require the product to remain above ambient temperature. Strip heaters are ideal in heating the incoming air. Heat is introduced safely into the tank through the unit, and monitored with a thermostat.
