Ozone Generators

Fuller Ozone Generators

The use of highly efficient, low maintenance, photochemical ozone producing systems are multifold in industrial, commercial, and in some cases, residential. While the potential scope of application is virtually unlimited, find below examples to illustrate the variation of uses.

Fuller manufactures many types of ozone devices and systems to fit virtually every level of offensive odors. Keep in mind the key to removing these odors is to extinguish them at the source while keeping living spaces around these areas virtually ozone free. Fuller ozone generators are designed to emit ozone levels below the standard .03 p.p.m. as required by the E.P.A., OSHA, and the F.D.A.

 Ozone Lamp Intensity

Approximately 60% of the ozone produced from the lamp is dissipated in about 20 minutes. Depending upon the amount of odors in the air prior to use truly determines this rate. The remaining amount would need up to 2 hours to fully dissipate. These numbers vary in respect to humidity, air temperature, air flow, etc. At 184 nanometer wavelength, which is the region in the spectrum nearest the peak of ozone production, the power of an ozone lamp is described in that of intensity.

1.      Intensity is the density, or strength of the ozone at a point or specific distance from the lamp. Intensity is usually expressed in microwatts per square centimeter, which is a product of energy, time, and area.

2.      Output is the volume, or total amount, of ozone being produced by the lamp. Output is usually expressed in parts per million (P.P.M.).

High intensities of ozone for a short period of time, or low intensities for a long period of time, are fundamentally equal in lethal action on odors. Fuller Ozone Generators typically use low level lamps in conjunction with medium range blowers, to achieve their lethal action.  Assuming the space is used on a timed basis, the proper limit for Ozone treatment can be determined if the following points are known:

1.

The characteristics of the area to be treated:

Dimensions.

Location of the return vents.

Access to duct is achievable.

2.

The peak time or times which odors may be at their worst.

When room is filled to capacity or empty.

3.

Ozone energy level required for odor destruction.

*Approximate ozone output in grams per hour under favorable conditions. Please note that ozone output is subject to considerable variation due to conditions under which the lamp is used; under many conditions, the ozone output may be only a fraction of the specified figure.
